It
was founded in the mid 19th century and is a voluntary aided school which
means the diocese owns the property and the land and the governors have
certain financial responsibilities for the school.
The building is constructed of local stone and is
Grade II listed. The school has been remodelled over the past twenty years
to provide three classrooms, a hall, kitchen and cloakrooms on the ground
floor with administrative rooms and staff cloakrooms on the first floor in
what was originally the head teacher's house. Plans are in hand to remodel
the back of the building to provide a larger library and cloaks area and a
first floor community room with ICT facilities.
