Buckland St Mary
a Village in the Blackdown Hills of Somerset Notice Board
Shelter Box

I promised to let you know when the ShelterBox, which we raised money for at the Monthly Coffee Morning in March this year, was despatched.

have now had a letter saying that the ShelterBox with the name “Buckland St Mary Church” was sent to Pakistan, to assist those affected by the flooding.

The team have added the following note.
“You have given more than just a ShelterBox; you have given a family shelter, warmth and dignity.”

This is just another example of the generosity of our community.

Will Kennard
BSM Monthly Coffee Morning

Thanks to everyone who has organised a coffee morning this year and the many who supported and enjoyed the social contact and, at the same time, gave generously to the charities each month: we will continue with this programme next year, but as winter approaches it is too cold in the
church—even for us hardy folk up here on the hill—so there will be no coffee mornings until February 2012.

Will anyone wishing to host a morning in the coming year, please contact Ann at 01460 234650.
BSM Village & Churchyard Tidy-up

Very many thanks to all those hard-working folk who turned up and spent their time and energy clearing paths, raking leaves, scraping the roadside, cutting and sweeping.

The centre of the village, as well as the churchyard, both look very much better as a result and, hopefully, others will have
noticed the difference.

We also enjoyed refreshments together in the Church to keep us going.
