British Royal Legion

The Royal British Legion exists to promote the welfare of those who are serving or who have served in the armed forces of the Crown and their dependants.  Fund raising is a primary function to support the welfare of all members of the serving and ex-service community.

Membership is open to those who have served in the armed forces for 7 days or more (Ordinary) , and to anyone who supports the Legion and its aims (Associate).        The Branch holds meetings of its members every 3 months, on Monday evenings, in the village hall.  Fund raising events and social events are held from time to time.  There is an annual Branch Service of Remembrance at St Mary's at 3pm on Remembrance Sunday.

St Mary's Friends

Like most communities, both rural and urban, we have a very active scheme which seeks to protect the parish from crime.  With the help of the police and vigilance of individuals, problems seen can and often are averted through use of the telephone cascade and e-mail systems. To join contact 01460 234226.

St Mary's Friends is a group interested in preserving Buckland St Mary Church.  It aims to raise money solely for the purpose of maintaining the fabric of the Church and Churchyard.
